Changes to API Reseller accounts
Improved tracking and monitoring |
Ease of adding TLDs to your offering (no more Product IDs) |
Ability to add new products outside of domains (coming soon) |
More reliable backend |
Enhanced authentication process (multiple key/secret combos vs single username/password) |
Updated interactive documentation |
Where to Start?
Review the documentation first inside your Reseller Control Center. The documentation is interactive and tied to our OTE services, so feel free to use the "try it" buttons. Determine which API calls you currently make to the SOAP service and find their equivalents within the documentation. Create your keys/secrets and begin testing. If you have specific questions, contact us at API@godaddy.com.
Timeline
We will be turning off access to the SOAP API in September 2018. Until then you will be able to use the REST and SOAP service in parallel. We recommend making the migration as soon as possible, but will continue to send updates during this time. You can also keep up to date with the News section of the Reseller Control Center (reseller.godaddy.com).
Customer Changes
There is nothing you need to do to your customer accounts, Good as Gold or credit accounts, etc. This should be a non-customer facing change for you. We want to ensure all our API resellers are able to make the transition smoothly without fear of being left on a deprecated service so please reach out if you have any questions.
